Size 00 to 1.5 Today's Friends are essentially refined and improved versions of the original SLCD designed in 1972 by Ray Jardine. Technical Friends feature a single stem made from 7 x 7 stainless steel cable. This strong cable is omni-directionally flexible and allows Technical Friends to be used in horizontal cracks and holds in awkward diagonal placements. Because of the flexibility, when they are placed in a vertical crack, the top cams are not pulled out and bottom cams are pushed in. With integrated cam stops, Technical Friends are strength rated in the full open position. |

Size Z1 to Z6 Wild Country Zeros take cam sizes smaller than has ever been possible. Six sizes start at a miniscule .22" (5.5 mm). This ultra small cam dimension is achieved by using a new, compact, patent pending Direct Loading Axle™ which combines termination and axle in one unit, allowing the cams to operate without the hindrance of bulky conventional assembly. Direct Loading Axle™ allows cams down to a crack width of 5.5 mm. Flexi-stem™ system permits the most extreme cam placements. Guided Trigger™ system allows total control of the cam head. Six sizes - Z1 through Z6 are color coded and include new 10 mm Dyneema™ double loop fast extending sling. VC - Variable Controller The Variable Controller's narrow slots combine with the narrow side of the wedge to force the ropes into a tight 'S' bend controlling the rope smoothly and effectively particularly when rappelling with modern lightweight half and single ropes.
